Re: Help please, indictors wont work
I had hazards fail when the connectors on the back of the switch were either not a good fit or had slipped partially off causing the switch to get hot and deform meaning the contacts were out of alignment. corrected the crimp terminals and cleaned then and fitted new switch and all is good. This was...

Re: Propshaft question / problem
That's a good mod, like it. I think when I was looking for the parts for the prop I search online for the original part numbers and the middle lock over washer (RTC 1336 I think) was found on some obscure website that did not relate to cars. I did not have the issue you had with the screw ...

Re: starter motor
Hi, I had mine reconditioned at Sovereign Rotating Electrics Ltd in Bognor Regis, but that was back in 2009 and I had a contact there. the starter was I think the original and now still going strong. I would try and find a place that reworks them near to you if you can.

Re: MK1 sidelight/indicator units
TR7 units only have 2 diagonal fixing to the body rather than the 4 on a Marina lamp. I had one and drilled the extra holes and fitted the 2 off my older unit.
They will fit though.
They will fit though.

Re: Tyres
Yes they are starting to get hard. Spare is still perfect new and not hard. Not sure I can get the same tyre now. Not fussed about a classic tyre tread just buy ones that work well. Cheap tyre may peg out earlier than a Michelin. These have stood up well.

Re: Tyres
Are tyres really this price! Last time I bought tyres for my TC was over 12 years ago and these were Michelins 165, 70, 13. at £56 each fitted. Tyres still on car and passing MOTs.

In my mini years ago it had a very liquid grease which flowed so not a heavy type. Marina has same as gearbox / back axle as Chris states.

Makes the IOW cheap then! What you need is a bridge.
So your defecting then! No one will be able to afford to visit, well there's an idea

Re: Ignition Timing for O Series
Do you get a ferry voucher to help if you want to get to main land or is it a sensible fee to start with?

Re: Ignition Timing for O Series
I found a pump near to home which serves fuel with no Ethanol, so happy using that. But can't get a big enough tank fitted for very long journeys so will have to resort to the crap stuff then.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Cheers for the replies. Yes I normally do them up by hand to a Nice tightness but thought I would check the torque and had trouble finding a torque and only in the handbook. I think judging by how tight the nuts were to remove they were probably only at 30foot pounds. Now at 38. definitely would not...

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Fitted new leaf springs which has raised the rear by about 30mm and springs are not flat now and all poly bushed. The old rubber eye bushes were starting to split which is not surprising. Greased handbrake cable, fitted new steering rack gaiters (12 years old and were very perished). Polished brake ...
