Now I have replaced all the front suspension / brakes and fitted a new steering on the Jubilee
Turning my attention to rear ,I have new shocks & brakes to replace the existing ones ,but the rear springs look absolutely
shocking all rusty and the bushes look shot
Can you buy new springs for a MK1 from a supplier or is it a custom made job ?

Any info would be appreciated thanks

There are a couple of companies that will make you up new springs and supply them with bushes. Brost Forge
Midland Road Springs

A quick Google will bring up their details.

Just because the springs look rusty it doesn't mean they are shot. Mine looked awful.

I bought a single NOS spring from ebay (nobody wanted a single one) for comparison, and was very surprised to find the tempering of my springs was still good. The bushes were of course well past their sell by, but "relatively" easy to replace. And the springs cleaned up with a bit of elbow grease to look like new.

I did get a quote to have new springs made, but it isn't cheap and there was some doubt, from the supplier, of the exact specification.

I have a good condition set rust wise but they need re-tempering / setting and new bushes. Plus I am south coast!
