Re: Hunting for morris marina van front discs
I just dumped the fluid (dot4) and pressure bled afterwards, was a good opportunity to clean out a bit of old sediment in the bottom of the reservoir. Took it out to bed in the new pads and the braking performance has improved noticeably, I didn't expect much difference as at the end of the day they ...

Re: Hunting for morris marina van front discs
I should follow this up - got new discs and bearings, pads and sliders from esm morris minors in the uk, carried of course because of the number of minors with marina disc conversions. The parts and shipping to new zealand were quite reasonable. The hub bolts didn't put up much fight at all which ...

Spotted a particularly wild marina coupe today
And thought i'd post up a picture. Have no idea whats in it but it had 2 serious looking exhaust pipes. I would have investigated further if not stuck in holiday traffic! North island NZ.

Thanks Chris, that's fantastic news. I've owned this van 18 years and have never had the discs off!

Hunting for morris marina van front discs
G'day everyone, I haven't been on the forum for years - I hope you and your marinas are well. I very recently dragged my marina van into the daylight and took it in for its first roadworthiness inspection in 6 years. It did very well for a 47 year old leyland product but failed on sticky front ...

Made a car-b-que from my parts-ute (very rotten) hope y'all like your steaks marina-ted! easiest way to convert a marina to electronic ignition next thing is to get solar lights inside the headlight buckets, and perhaps even clean the bbq..

Re: Alternative commercial/coupe seats?
Thanks for the advice all, ended up with a pair of seats from an early mini, simply welded a piece of 20mm pipe between the mini mounting "tabs" and used morris minor saddle-clamps to bolt to the original captive threads in the floor. Looks great in black vinyl and it would take an expert to know ...

Re: Alternative commercial/coupe seats?
$400 p.a seems awfully steep! Thanks heaps for all the info guys, think i'll keep an ear to the ground for some flip-forwards, really want to be able to make full use of the cavity, can fit an awful lot of stuff in there!

Re: Alternative commercial/coupe seats?
I just looked the MGZR up, don't think they sold those in NZ! we only got the sporty sort, mgf? I need to have a look at a marina sedan and see how the slider-seats mount up, are the floors actually different?

Re: Alternative commercial/coupe seats?
Cheers for that, I should be able to make some up from a bit of steel plate without too much drama :) I assume they're just like this (excuse crude line drawing haha) where the seat just rotates inside the bracket?

Re: Alternative commercial/coupe seats?
Unfortunately I don't have the original frames, I can only surmise how the seats are meant to be from the threaded inserts on the floor. When I last had this van a decade ago it had seats from a japanese car, as a teenager I never gave it a second thought but they must have been bolted through the ...

Alternative commercial/coupe seats?
Hi all, looking to put some seats in my 10cwt, originals are long gone. It would appear they have two brackets which attach to a transverse bar allowing them to be swung forward, much like a morris minor. I have a feeling finding marina seats like this (commercial or coupe i assume) could be pretty ...
