Steering rack bush

After considerable use this summer the marina will need a few jobs doing over the coming winter. I have recently developed a knock from the passenger side front suspension /steering that I am fairly sure is coming from the steering rack. Are replacement bushes currently available? I know Chris on he...

Leaf Springs

Can anyone recommend a company that could supply/manufacture a new pair of leaf springs for my marina? The ones on my car had gone saggy and I have fitted a repacement second hand pair but they are not much better so looking to see if I can get new ones.

Re: Practical Classics Feature September 2021

Just got the magazine and read the article. It's a good read and a good story about the long term relationship you have had with the car. Good work with the engine change and sorting out all of the issues that it came with. The saying is never meet your heros and it can be the same with feature cars...

Re: Forums or Facebook?

Ok, so I have finally crumbled and signed up to facebook! There seems to be more and more car related stuff happening on there. As people have mentioned a lot of it is batter and photo posting but there does also seem to be more spares and cars coming up on there too. The forum is still the place fo...

Re: A question or two for josh (radio related)

Yes Chris I think less bling on that stereo would improve its look. I am always wary of things that seem to be too cheap for all that they promise. Good to know that it is actually an ok unit and works as it should. I still don't think it is right for my car as it fits into a DIN size hole which wou...

Re: A question or two for josh (radio related)

Thanks for all the replys on this guys. I have seen a few of the FM bluetooth devices that have been mentioned but the radio only has LW/MW. I thought that if a aux input could be added I could connect an MP3 player that has an FM radio built into it so I could pick up the normal stations I listen t...

A question or two for josh (radio related)

I have a Radiomobile radio fitted in my Marina, I like the look of it and it suits the dashboard but it only has LW/MW so is very limited in choice of stations. I would like a better choice of music but would like to keep this radio. Now I could just hide a modern stereo in the glove box but where i...

Re: Stainless Steel or Aluminium fuel tanks

Somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to remember that this was discussed a good few years ago and the consensus was that the MGB tank was the same basic shape but with different filler necks and maybe different sender units. So I wonder what would be involved in modifying one of these tanks to fi...

Re: Stainless Steel or Aluminium fuel tanks

Did you get any further with this Chris? My latest car has a substantial welded repair on its tank and although it doesn't leak yet I don't know if I would trust it with a full tank of fuel. So I would certainly be interested in a new tank especially if they were built to order could we maybe get a ...

Re: Brake servo - replace or repair?

Hi Robin, that pedal box had been out of a car for many, many years and i did say I had no idea of the condition of things internally but I do feel bad that the condition of it is so poor inside so I have refuned you some of the money to help out with the parts you are going to need to get it sorted...

Re: Forums or Facebook?

Having seen the bullying tactics that Facebook are trying to intimidate the Austrailian government with I think I will leave signing up for a while. I felt that these tech giants had too much control in peoples lives before this happened and Facebook have just re enforced this opintion by there acti...
