Try telephoning - much more receptive. One of my local MMOC members insures his van through them so commercial vehicles OK - what they are worried about is "white van man" rage - hence no commercials.

If they won't do that, ask if t...

I think that a Marina or Ital based kitcar is OK. We can hardly ask them to put the parts back into the original car can we? At the MMOC National show there is always a trophy for best Marina/Ital based kit car, sadly kitcar owning members rarely show up so it goes back in the box. I must admit to h...

When I fitted my OD gearbox, I had to raise the line of the gearbox tunnel, so sensibly I removed the heater box before setting to. Having measured up I knew that I would be able to refit it afterwards. What I hadn't bargained on was the closeness of the fit. I had to drill out all the rivets on the...

Me and a mate had a pre-war Riley Kestrel back in the 1970s. Hauled it out of a farm barn with a hole in the roof. Spent all our money on ash and spent 6 months making up wooden frames. The car had woodworm, dry rot and wet rot underneath the ally body.

never got the engine going though.
