Re: Marina inbound, with questions
FYI Leyland Australia fitted the 2.6 E6 with an adaptor that allowed them to use the same bellhousing as the alloy V8 in the P76, so a LT77 V8 bellhousing would bolt up to that adaptor. I'm not sure if they used the same crank tail as the fwd E6. Kelvin may be able to look up that info in his parts ...

Re: Morris Oxford MO/Isis/MS Six front suspension
Production ended in March 2014. Some were imported to the UK in 1992 as the Fullbore Mark 10, but they didn't sell well.

Re: Morris Oxford MO/Isis/MS Six front suspension
An interesting development of the MO was the Hindustan Ambassador, which had the same front suspension, but was further developed to eventually have roll bars and disc brakes. It also had a model with the 1489cc B-series diesel with a 5-speed gearbox, the source of which isn't stated, but is likely ...

Morris Oxford MO/Isis/MS Six front suspension
While investigating torsion bar options for the Marina, found this illustration of the front suspension of a Morris Oxford MO. I noticed that whilst it was based on the Minor, it had telescopic shocks with the shock mount sandwiched between the lower arms. I wonder how similar the lower arms are to ...

Have a look at the Lucas test cards in this thread. Should tell your mechanic everything he needs to know.

Re: 1.3 TC Workshop Manual
It probably would have muddied the model structure too, the Deluxe/Super/TC pecking order was nice and simple. BL might also have seen it as competing with the Triumph 1300 TC and Austin/Morris 1300 GT. I did a quick comparison, assuming a 1300 TC would use the 70bhp 1300 GT specification, then it w...

Re: Cam options for 1.8 B series
Cool, that ties in well with the recommendation from the other thread about vacuum advance improving economy at cruising speeds.

Re: Cam options for 1.8 B series
Does that distributor have vacuum advance? (Can never remember which MGBs had what)MarinaCoupe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 10:08 pm I used a Piper 270 cam in mine with a pre 1967 MGB Lucas 25D distributor as the advance curve suits the camshaft. I used K&N filters and found that AAA needles worked best in the twin HS4 carbs.

Re: Classic Tyres
If you want a precedent ;-) , my first Marina that I bought in 1982 was fitted with 155/80 radials, which I replaced with 175/70 Firestone Cavallinos. To complicate matters , I found some vehicle approval data on a NSW government website that showed ZR78S13, 155/80SR13, ZR70S13, 175/70SR13 approved ...

Re: Classic Tyres
The TC came standard with 4.5" wheels and ZR70H13 tyres. This American lettering standard from the 60s and 70s is hard to get accurate conversions into modern tyre sizes, but the chart here says YR70H13 would be 155/70x13 and AR70H13 would be 175/70x13, so ZR70H13 should actually be 165/70x13. ...
