VAN TEMPERATURE GUAGE

VAN temp gauge, which mine duesnt have one! Would a cheaper EBay gauge and sender do the trick and where does the sender go?!

Do you mean water temperature or oil temperature gauge. If you mean water temperature gauge,the sender goes in the cylinder head at the front.

Yes Chris, temperature of water i think is the one! kinda missing it now i have a leaky, and soon to be replaced, rad! i will look at the cylinder head attachment and see what's needed, is there a specific or universal size? (haven't looked yet!)

The port for the temperature sender is at the right in this picture under the thermostat housing.

hanks Chris, had a look, and there's the remains of one in there! i emphasis remains.. i am a little hesitant to try and remove it should it break. Does it just go into the block as a blank or does it open up onto the water chamber?

Its a Tapered Thread into the water jacket get Van hot and crack it loose let van go cold remove and refit radiator cap can then be changed without hardly loosing any coolant.

Did the van have a temp guage as standard, or did it just have a warning light like the Mini?
