Hi all,
Does anyone know if you can fit the Differential unit from a late spitfire into a Marina axle? I ask as I once thought I saw one fitted to a Marina that was 'rallied' by Sam Glover in the practical classics magazine. Any advise is much appreciated.

Yes, it will drop straight in, check that the diff ratio suits what you need. The Spitfire diffs are no better or worse than the Marina ones, don’t set any store on the fact it’s from a Triumph.

Thanks, Chris

I see that Blackline make a helical LSD for the spitfire. Does anyone know if this unit would fit into a standard marina diff? as this would be a more cost effective solution compared to a Quaife unit.

Judging by the list of uses on the web-page it would be fine. The price is plus postage and VAT so not quite as cheap as it first appears. Then you either have to fit it to the diff carrier yourself or pay someone to do it for you.

Re: Late Spitfire Differential
That seems quite good cost wise if it works as well as quaife its very good value The main problem in fitting is making a diff stretching tool. Setting back lash be ok with DTI Gauge as long as not changing ratio and disturbing the pinion height the contact patterns should still be the same
