Six wheel three axle marina

Post by marina12 » Sun Mar 20, 2016 11:38 am

Found this on RetroRides forum - mods I have assumed that stating the forum name and linking ( couldn't copy picture if I tried ) is allowed but if not as it is some one else's picture on another forum please remove this post, letting me know. Thanks.

Capri front Marina middle and rear+ extra bits:

Puts a new meaning on 'cut and shut'. I'd get a load of autojumble stuff in the back of that one.

Not sure what's going on there! Hadn't the early valance gone by the time the estate came along?

Makes an amphibious Marina start to look like quite a sensible idea!

Hi guys
I built that 30 years ago
Known in kent as the caprina it was an estate cut off at the bulkhead and a capri 2.3 v6 5 speed grafted on it was a suprising easy conversion as the chassis rails overlapped perfectly and the firewall was very similar shape it ran 2 x atlas axles (ford) and a transfer box giving 6x4 drive the front suspension was ford coilover struts and larger discs the hardest part was the stretching of the roof as it dropped so much towards the rear the ford v6 gave it enough power to play silly buggers in the wet but getting it sideways was a challenge it was 5 feet longer than standard
Id love to build anoyher one if someone has the bits......
