Booked Kermit into the workshop to have the Trunnions and top joints done.
Mechanic has indicated the new ones (Walfords) are wrong??? but stated nothing wrong with old ones so he has greased them up and tickled em!
In doing so may have found the source of the knock I was hearing.
Prop shaft support bearing collapsed so this needs replacing - sigh!!
Are they still available from anyone?

I've fitted Transit centre bearings to my cars. £15 posted but you have to re-use the Marina centre bearing ring.

Hah! Now you tell me - after I have bought one from Rimmers. :-D
Not sure the bearing ring is in a fit state. The whole donut (or Doughnut) is pretty shot!

Sorry!

If you wanted one made up as a spare (I've a spare ring or two) let me know.

Have had the Rimmer Donut fitted to Kermit and now runs fine. Twas going to fit it myself but didn't have the inclination. Glad I didn't. Garage had problems separating the spline on the Prop. Jokingly said they had to pull it apart between two Fork Lift Trucks :)

Took Kermit up to the East Anglian Transport Museum last Saturday for the "Trolleybus Twilight Day" - Very enjoyable and Kermit ran a treat!

Started it for the first time since Feb, so I could drive it up the drive and spin it around. Now I can finally work on finishing the rust work and then start the fun stuff; reassembly and then putting it on the road again.

Oh yeah, the other reason progress slowed down, my SD1.
