Coupe rear window rubber

Post by VintageSpeed » Mon Aug 12, 2024 7:43 pm

Hi. I followed a club tip to make new rear window rubber for my coupe from mk3 Escort front screen rubber. I bought one from EKT and cut/glued it myself to fit the window. It did not fit on the body and the rubber was destroyed trying too hard.

So I had to try again and I got second rubber from Germany Motomobil. This time I gave the car to professional glass guy who has done his job 34 years. He called some hours ago me to tell It can not be done. The Mk3 Escort rubber is way too different to fit Marina body.

Any ideas where to get correct profile rubber from roll? Seems like the only option.

Odd. I've used Mk3 escort front screen seals on out LE coupe and other coupes without issue.
