*** WHAT'S IN A NAME? ***

Post by The original northen boy » Fri Mar 20, 2009 12:47 am

Quite a few years ago Frank (even before he was Uncle Frank) and Debbie were expecting the birth of their first baby, and i say this in all honesty one of the names that was considered for a baby girl was Marina, how much of this was Frank's idea i can't say but the name was passed over in favour of Amber.

Amber from the Arabic meaning "precious jewel" or in Sanskrit meaning "sky" variants are Amber,Ambereen,Amberetta,Amber and Ambur.

Marina from the modern English meaning "of poor build" or in Hindi meaning "hole-ly" variants are Maestro,Maxi,Montego, and Allegro.

Perhaps a wise choice,..... you can just imagine this conversation.........."I hear you and Marina Phillips have split up"........ "yeah every time i took her out she kept breaking down on me"

Well if I found a girl named Marina she would probably have an edge over other girls. If she's like my Marina then she would spend her time in a darkened room with a man under her....

Greasing her nipples? (someone had to make that joke  )

I think I once said I would only go out with a girl if she was named Marina (when I was very little I hasten to add). Good job really as I havent yet anyone named Marina, my ladyfriend is a Helen.

My Mum's name is 'Marina' and when I mention it to any one who has a Marina or are members of the MMOC they don't believe me!!!!

She was born and named well before the Marina car was first produced, so hence not named after the car, but my parents did own 2 Marina cars over about 15 years! Not counting the other 3 in the family :|

If we had had a girl 5 months ago we had thought about Jubilee for the middle name :o
Instead I have a son called Lucas, which was sort of a fun idea which stuck as we liked the name. So now he has his name all over my TC 8)

It would get to confusing having another one in the family named Marina :D

Have just come off the phone, with Frank and he now has lost all recognition of this event,(some what like the the Ford RS incident that i mentioned some while ago) I think Marina is a nice name for a girl, and if you had mixed twins Morris the boy and Marina the girl, this sounds like a job for Jan-Ivor Marina Man extraordinaire.

There's a story that i have heard once or twice about a Firms senior manager called Christopher Peter Bacon, whose company was taken over by the Americans,in an effort to make things more relaxed and casual and less formal than the previous British owners the company de-formalised the managers titles and the way they addressed themselves, new door name plates were made and fitted all was fine until some one noticed the new door plaque and it read, "Chris P Bacon"

well that how the story goes anyhow.

Although i am sworn to secrecy,i can revel that a forum member is considering the two following name for his new arrival,

 Morris,for a boy.
 Marina For a girl.

Honestly this is the truth, look at the girls names at the moment that are car based,Porsche,Mercedes,Morgan, and Kia,just as well i was not to call any child after some of the cars i've owned.

 You useless pile of s**t
 You f*****g useless pile of s**t
 Oh this car is w**k
