10cwt van rear brake shoes

Post by paul » Mon Jan 22, 2018 10:52 am

Does anyone know if the rear brake shoes on a 10cwt van matches up with any other vehicles? As i need two pairs of shoes for the rear of mine, and i'm finding it difficult to find any ! I know the 10cwt is different to all the other drum brake marinas, because size and width, and usually it's the front i find an issue to get, which match up with a Toledo, but this time round it's the rear that i can't find!

They're listed on page 7 of the Earlpart catalogue http://www.earlpart.co.uk/catalogue%20marina.pdf

Hi there L.B.
Yes, i had seen those, but at £37.50 2016 prices, i will continue the search for more reasonably priced ones, until i'm desperate ;)
Normally , i have been able to get two pairs of shoes, either front or rear, for my van for around £15. which, as i tend to use my van, and brakes, a lot (10,000 miles a year on average) . So i tend to go through the shoes!

If you find your local commercial brakes and hoses specialist. They will be able to get your original shoes relined with new material for you

I bought a set for my Ital 575, I presume the Marina and Ital are the same. My local motor factors kept them at £27 though I found out I could have got them of eBay for £18. I'll try and find the part number, they were the same as MGB ones from memory.

Paul, I can’t find the ones that I thought I had - sorry. Trigger is right Marina/Ital 10cwt/575 rear axle uses the same brake shoes as MGB

These are the cheapest on EBay - £10.

That makes sense. Wasn't the axle derived from the early MGB/A60/Oxford banjo axle?

Latest is that all those i approach, from the MGB angle, cannot confirm they are the same, as all listings i have found say just MGB. Do any of you have any confirmation that they are the same?

Thanks Chris,?
is that part number the BL part number? or the brake shoe manufacturers number? Like GBS740? (which seems to be the most common MGB number)
cheers

Based on that Chis says they the same and the Unipart Part number GBS740 I have been on my Delphi Webcat gives cross reference of LS 1023
I have screen shotted picture and sizes so you can check if same as on your van.
