Spotted today
Spotted a Marina on the back of a beaver tail pick-up today.
XCD425S, a MK2 1.3 Super saloon.
Unfortunately not in good condition, engine and gearbox gone, no grill, lights or front windscreen. Usual areas were rotten, boot lid was good though! Brown dash looked ok brown cloth seats looked a bit saggy. Mileage was 76861.
Managed to salvage the plastic interior lamp cover!
Destined for the banger track.
Tried to take some photos but the camera on my phone is refusing to focus properly. Not sure what the colour is? Sort of metallic orangey gold. Reynard?

Re: Spotted today
That's my old one that was going to be a 2.2 E powered car, however a 73 mk1 came up that was going to be bangered and I did a swap simply as there's no room for sentimentality, condition rules the roost

Ah yes, I can see it in the background in your photo with the yellow Ital. It looks like its had a bonnet swap with the yellow Ital. The wheel with the NOS tyre with the sticker on was on front of the Marina too!

It's also got the back axle off the ital too,,which was an own goal as all I've got is a 1300 early marina axle to replace it!

Re: Spotted today
Maybe you could swap it back, I don't think it's going on the banger track 'till August and I doubt if it matters what axle is on it for its final blaze of glory!

Re: Spotted today
It must have gone to someone else since, but tbh the axle casing was corroded quite heavily so only the diff would have been of use really,,I'll get something sorted eventually.
Re: Spotted today
Driving round darkest Suffolk last week came upon this!
I imagine someone knows about it.Was asked if I was interested in buying so presumably for sale?

Can't say I knew that one was local! Here's a pic of it from a few years back, looks a bit sadder now. Wonder if it's as solid as it looks....

Looked solid from a quick glance but lots of knocks and dings.JoshWard wrote:Can't say I knew that one was local! Here's a pic of it from a few years back, looks a bit sadder now. Wonder if it's as solid as it looks....

Re: Spotted today
Nice early one isn't it Josh, the back doors being open to the elements won't do it much good. Looked lovely in your old pic.
