Interestingly, the Aus spec cars had a factory fitted slave cylinder that had the circlip like the Moprod ones. So much easier to work with.

Circlip makes a lot of sense to me too. The UK anti-rattle clip was an add-on to the standard slave, it didn’t change the mounting, it just held it tighter to the bracket.

Shame that design wasn't adopted as standard over here.

I’ve probable got a spare anti-rattle clip if that helps?

In the latest UNDERSTEER (December 2022) on page 26 Josh Ward has provided an updated 'Oldest and Newest' list, the newest Mk3 Estate shows as being EJO 635V

On the DVLA vehicle check screen EJO 635V is displayed as MORRIS/RED but on the 'Check MOT history' screen it is displayed as ROVER ITAL

This is the second time in two months that I have come across an instance of this discrepancy, see final post on following thread:-

Yes, I have come across it a few times. I can only assume it somehow relates to a databasing issue. For example, you can search for a 'Rover Ital' on some car parts websites but the manufacturer 'Morris' or model 'Marina' are not listed. I had one Marina where the make was recorded in the DVLA database as 'Morris Marina D/L' with no model. Plus there's the known error of just about every MK1 Marina being registered as a DL or Deluxe regardless of trim level.
Another odd one I have come across, less so these days because of MOT exemption, is when a car is taken for the first MOT in many years. I have seen 'date of first use' listed as 'July 1971' on numerous Marinas.

marina12 wrote: Sun May 15, 2022 3:29 pm Thanks I wondered that but wasn’t sure as the Moprod ones I have seen pictures of ( never seen one in real life) have been shinier than the cast ones but this one looks like it’s been there a while. I wonder why the Moprod ones didn’t catch on- would make so much easier perhaps. There might be a lip in the photo like the cast ones have? Thanks again.
