Green is a ignition fused live, however that is normally a darker green. The wire does look factory though. what voltage is in it and when? What does not work? You do have some aftermarket wiring going on there with that non original ballast resistor system fitted there it maybe to do with the the original wiring to the coil but wont be either the main power ( white) or the connection to the distributor fort the points (white black ) maybe it is the signal wire for a rev counter this could well have been put in the factory loom as a degree of standardisation even if you dont have a rev counter fitted.

Thanks David, traced it back to temp gauge.Pulled damaged wiring out of loom.
Motor turns over,no spark at plugs, sort tomorrow.
No blinkers or hazards.
Slow process of checking everything, have found 6 broken connections, reattached.
Have got fuel to carbie, which is good.
Still got brakes to sort & check clutch master out.

It should go on sender at front of cylinder head then. The ignition coil is incorrect as its a 12 volt coil. you either need to remove the ballast resistor connecting the white wire directly to coil positive ( assuming negative earth) disconnecting the red black wire and the other wire on the coil cant quite see colour from picture the other side of coil negative to distributor points the red black wire should also be removed from the brown wire on solenoid
If you want to use a ballast resistor a special ballast resistor coil is required.
If you wish to use the ballast resistor leave the white connected to ballast connect the red black from resistor to ballast coil positive a second wire from coil positive will need to go to a cranking live either a specific solenoid terminal or a relay not directly to feed from ignition start as will back feed when engine running. A typical 1.5 ohm resistor will require a 9 volt ignition coil

Thanks David.
The previous owner was having issues with getting it running.
I was going to remove everything that has been added over time ,expose all wiring ,then re wrap.
My Son's 6 cylinder Marina was similar, removed all the crap, put it back to how it was made.
