Searching For AOH 669T

Post by BLzebub » Sat Mar 11, 2023 12:22 pm

Hi guys. I'm looking for information on a Marina 1300 Coupe I once owned. A brown 2 door. I sold it around 1999 in the Nottingham area with 30,000 on the clock. It was in really good condition at the time and I hope it has survived.
Would love to share some of its history with the current owner, or maybe even buy it back!?

Best wishes

Hmmm, it’s not been taxed since 2000, so it’s probably gone to the great car park in the sky. It last changed hands in 1999, so it may have been broken up for spares or to power a Morris Minor or MG Midget or for a kit-car not using that registration. There’s an outside chance that it’s squirrelled away in storage somewhere, but in all honestly it’s not likely.

Thank you for the reply MarinaCoupe. Yes I agree it looks bleak.

I sold it to an elderly lady who had an 1800 super in a barn with engine trouble. She bought mine as a replacement. If she's still alive then perhaps both Marinas are still in that barn! I will try to remember where it was. I delivered it to her so I do still remember some details.

Further, I bought the coupe from a salvage yard for £75 (with a full MOT!)
There I was told that it came from an elderly gentleman who bought two identical Marinas off the lot: one to drive daily (mine) and one to preserve in perfect condition in his garage.
If that's true then perhaps its sister car is out there somewhere!

I do miss that car, it was fantastic.

It’s possible that it was driven until the MOT ran out.

My hope was that someone found both coupes and they're awaiting restoration somewhere. A long shot but you never know.
I certainly might track down the farm I sold it to and investigate whether they're still sat there.

Your right there Chris. I sold my 1997 Honda Prelude 2.2VTI to a farmer and it was sorn for years, now has popped up and been restored and went from Southampton to Norwich. trying to get in contact with the new owner as I have loads of history he may be interested in.
This car was in perfect order when sold and had cream interior, the new owner with a large woolly pully on just smelt of horse poo! But he paid the money and the car went.
