1.7 o series carburetter is losing dashpot oil into throttle body resulting in the car overfueling and spilling petrol out of the overflow tube,does anyone know what causes this and how to rectify it?All help would be greatful

Sounds like a worn carb, possibly the float sticking. I'd contact Burlen Fuel systems and get a rebuild kit.
