How Club Panels Are Made!

I went over to our supplier of MMOC remanufactured panels the other week to drop off a genuine rear quarter panel, so that they can start making the rear arches. Whilst I was there in SLK Gordon wanted to check the cardboard pattern against my arches and make any small changes. I lost count at how many times he checked and adjusted the pattern but it was fascinating watching everything come together.

We should be collecting the new panels any day now so will share pictures on here!

Thanks have to go to my dad for allowing the genuine panel in the back of his new Jag estate... We were very careful!

:) Excellent stuff Ben..that what this club is all about, ..keeping the cars on the road and being seen to be doing something about it  , because without the parts the cars will just stop being usable and we will all end up driving boring euroboxes :( . as long as the MMOC is around we will keep Marinas where they belong...on the road 8) .

The jacking points sound interesting Ben, can they make pannels with complex shapes such as inner wheelarch sections? Ex-Pressed Steel claim to be able to make perfect reproductions from original panels, even if the part is double skinned or with complex surface pressings, something many pattern parts simply fail to provide.
Are you looking into having inner sills made too? These look straight forward, perhaps even accurate copies of Mumford reinforcing plates as well as front screen repair sections as well?

If we have a panel then they can replicate it. Currently we haven't looked into complete inner wings but I have asked about some top rails if there is some interest.

Inner sills are no problem. They have a set of my genuine ones for copying.

Basically anything you want making for the Marina, the club has a contact for now but with everything it has to come from small acorns.. So long as I have a pattern then anything is possible!

Here are some pictures of the jacking points. Sorry for the poor picture but it was from a camera phone before they were sent off to a member!
