Are the plug leads and coil lead new or old, they do break down over time.

Good to see the old General is still on the road in the back ground there.

glad the panels arrived ok.. looking good. I forgot you have an early car. I would have done the silver ones with black outline for you if I realised :rolls: Nevermind, she looks the biz anyway

They are the right ones for it, BOP was built in late 71 after BL changed them

Interesting as always. BL didn't make the early trim for long then
Odd why they changed the design and colour (which would. require a tooling upgrade) for a company always looking to cut costs somwhere  Bit of a pointless change realy as I doubt sales would have suffered due to the lengh of the red heater symbol

Oops didn't notice the heater line, BL changed that later on. Late 71 on 1.3s with a black dash had the new bluey grey trim with silver lines (rather than the silver with black lines) but still had the short heater line. Not sure when they changed to the longer one, probably around late 72/early 73.

Still doesn't explain why they bothered changing the colours though! It seems they changed the heater ducts on the dash before changing the dash trim though. Early dash trim survived until around chassis number 50,000. The demister ducts changed somewhere between around 35 and 40,000.

I think this is why I like BL cars.. it fascinates me why so many changes were made but a bit of a mistery as to why!
