Parts..
There are a few sellers on Trademe (NZ) who often offer various Marina spares.
All are new parts, and many that I have bought came in NOS wrapping.
Things like 'O' series water pumps and fuel pumps etc at quite reasonable prices.
For example, I bought the 'last' O series water pump from a local parts outlet a few years ago for NZ$150, with the provision that they could also recondition one for the same price.
Up pops "Collinsauto" on Trademe with a new one for NZ$49.!
I bought it and asked if they had any more. They did, and I got 3 for the same price per.
Now I see a listing for a new clutch pressure plate for the buy-now of NZ$45.
I suppose thats about 15 quid.
Pretty hard to beat.
It may have been sourced from China.
I would buy it if it looked half serious and came from Peru...
2010 is looking good.
Cheers

Re: Parts..
Maybe they go round all the old rural garages, buying up the "new old stock" wherreted away in the attic or back shed.

My father-in-law was an auto sparky, and he still has bits and bobs in his garage for starters and generators. He binned a lot of stuff (mostly used spares) the last time he "retired" :x . Must make sure he tells me before he has another clean out.

Not sure which part you mean.
Is that the small round plate that fits directly onto the crankshaft.?
ie between the crank and the flex plate.
Could possibly have one here, and will happily supply if it is necessary to your continued state of eternal bliss...

Cheers.

Re: Parts..
Hi
Kilroy
This is a spacer/adaptor that fits onto the end of the crankshaft so a drive plate can be fitted for automatic applications.
this part will only be on engines that have or had an automatic gearbox fitted.
its the same part on 1.8 b series engines and 1.7/2.0 o series engines, well acording to BL parts books
part no.22H1400
Best regards
Barry

Hi Barry,
I've looked in both Sherpa and Ital manuals and they both use the 'O' series engines and the auto box, it might be worth a visit to a local scrappy for a sherpa adaptor if Kilroy can't come up trumps.
One of my local yards had 2 sherpas but both were manuals I think.
Is yours missing or damaged?
Brian.

Re: Parts..
Hi Brian
missing this last piece for current project 2.0 ital
Yes you are right this part also fits o series sherpa automatic, but again these are like hens teeth
this part also fits marina 1.8 auto's and rover sd1 2000 autos b/w box
This part is holding me up and i don't want to fit a manual.
i thought an MGB automatic might be the same though the part no. is different, but its the same crankshaft as a marina 1.8,but again MGB automatics are rare.
Best regards
Barry

Re: Parts..
Hi Barry,
I've got a cross sectional drawing in a 'Marina Autobooks' of the gearbox, torque convertor bolted to a plate with a starter ring gear secured to it and an 'adaptor piece to mount the plate to the crank (I assume), is it this adaptor plate you are after??
It doesn't look very big or complex, if you can't get one and someone can supply accurate dimensions and a picture I can make one for you.
Brian

Re: Parts..
That would be great if you could make one.
if anybody on here has one they could take measurments from for me to help me.
this spacer has 8 holes i think.
Best regards

Havn't found one thus far. I know what it looks like, and I felt sure I had one - however, it may still be attached to a crankshaft on an old block somewhere.
Will increase the search radius...

Re: Parts..
Hi
here is some pictures of a spacer, the same sort of thing im after.
This is a picture of a rover sd1 2000 spacer but sadly its for a GM auto gearbox and not a B/W auto box.
it fits my o series crankshaft but sadly its not thick enough and a b/w drive plate wont fit only the GM Ddrive plate fits
if somebody has any details of the thickness of a b/w adaptor/spacer for marina 1.8/1.7/ital 1.7/2.0automatics
rover sd1 2000 b/w
sherpa o series 2.0 auto
22h1400
then i could use this as a template and possibly get one made up,im sure a B/W spacer will be a lot thicker, just how thick im not sure.

The first picture is of spacer and drive plate locking ring
other pictures of spacer and thickness.
Best regards
Barry

The spacer for the Marina crank is not a flat plate.
It has sides and is a very firm fit over the end of the crankshaft.
From memory, its about 1" thick, and probably has about 3/4" recess in the back for the crank boss.
I am quite familiar with it, but I still havn't found a spare one...

Re: Parts..
Kilroy is quite correct. It is .9801" (2.49cm) thick with the recess for the crank boss. In addition to the 6 bolt holes, there are two dowel holes. I had a new one in stock, but I was swindled by a fellow who was going to make some for me and himself. I haven't seen it since. I also have a good used one for the car I am restoring. I would consider having some made. Can anyone offer an idea what it would be worth? There is a good deal of work involved and the steel it is made of is not cheap.

Re: Parts..
Well, after more than a year, I have had a machine shop make one for me. I can have more made--at a cost of $300US each. I discussed with the machinist the savings for quantity production, but there is little to be saved doing that.
I will be happy to have one made for anyone who needs one.
Cheers,
