Re: Could this be salvaged?
Anything can be salvaged if you've got the time, skill and patience (and a bucket load of enthusiasm for it), but you can bet that if it's sat outside on long grass for a fair amount of time there will be plenty of work needed underneath it.
My way of looking at it is that unless its something either very rare or very valuable then the money's probably better off spent somewhere else, any project that needs major bodywork will cost more in time and money than one needing mechanical work, as a rule your better off paying more for a known good shell than repairing one to a decent standard, pity I dont follow my own advice really

Best thing to do is get a good look at it and see if the normal areas are in trouble.
Sills, wings, A-posts, rear arches, lower wing corners and front jacking points and floors......

Re: Could this be salvaged?
Its difficult to give a definative answer from the limited views on the photos (the sideways one is too dark on my moniter to be of any use). However the wheelarches that we can see look in decent condition with both front and rear trims in place and thats a positive sign. Have you any idea how long its been stood there? That will be the key factor as "andy a" says. Could be rotten as an old pear underneath. Worth investigating a bit more though, even the BL badge on the wing looks like its still in situ.

Intresting white & rusty Ital beside it too!

Re: Could this be salvaged?
the body looks to have survived the years, but as already said it could be rotten underneath.
It has been parked on some paving by the looks of it, definatley worth a visit with a trolley jack.

Watching the slideshow was certainly eye opening. The opening pics with the two Marinas and the Ital wagon were amazing - talk about tin worm.
The red 1.3 Marina sitting on the pad certainly looks the best of the bunch.

Fascinating set. The poster appears to have owned (or know someone who owns) at least five Marinas and Itals as well as various A55s and Fiestas. Clearly he couldn't bear to part with any of them when they reached the end of the road though! I wonder what the story is behind them?
