Sunday 'club' -first Sunday of each month.

Post by balmy » Thu Jan 03, 2013 6:57 pm

Last year I realised although Barmy, Fruity and myself do a lot of car events together it's not often we get the chance to help each other on our cars ( apart from Barmy on mine maybe! )

So I came up with the idea of the first Sunday of the month we met and worked on one car and took it in turns in subsequent months. So this weekend is Fruity's turn, Barmy's in February and mine in March etc etc. The idea being that some bigger tasks are made much easier with help ( my turn will probably be changing the diff-one underneath, one on each side taking the half shafts out for example )

First up is getting Fruity's jubilee 'Lizzie' started. Came about as I wanted to be there the first time it fired up after 31 years and hopefully between the 3 of us we will have the spares and know how to get it done. Videos and photos to follow on Sunday ;)

Fruity-just remember the deal of who's car we are working on provides drinks and lunch :)

Nothing so official as every 1st Sunday, but we work pretty much like that. The car owner generally buys pizza!

Couple of big projects on at the moment so trying to get one cleared out (Dolomite) before moving onto the next one (Mud!). Might suggest having a more regular tinkering session over the Summer though, would be good to have a bit of a plan.

this is a very good idea. Sadly over here it's a 5 hours drive to the next person with a Marina :(
But as i substitute i usually invite a few friends of mine over with their Jap-boxes and we do some work on theyrs cars and help each other out. MUCH better than working all alone and you also get to finish the beer quicker . ;)

i ate some dog biscuits once many years ago.. and let this be a warning to you all they almost killed me..
one morning i ate some pedigree dog buscuits, quite tasty too and had no effect on me at the time, but a few hours later while walking in town, felt the need to lick my balls now dogs find this task quite easy however i didn't, and as i was getting into a position where i could lick em, i lost my balance fell into the road and got hit by a car, Tip for the day think seriosly before eating pet foods and if you do eat them keep away from busy roads :)
